The homeowners had three main goals for their remodel: they wanted a larger, more practical kitchen for cooking, upgraded appliances to fit their busy culinary lifestyle, and a fun, welcoming space for entertaining family and friends. The homeowners entrusted the designer with creative autonomy to incorporate unique details that add personality, warmth, and functionality to the space. A custom cutting board rack showcases handmade boards, including one crafted by the homeowner’s grandfather during his high school years. The pop-up mixer shelf cabinet is equipped with a pocket door that tucks out of the way while a frenzy of baking is going on. The walnut interior pantry accommodates a selection of artisan flours, thirty varieties of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables, and pantry staples. Additionally, the kitchen contains a concealed door that provides access to a secret compartment, the location of which will remain undisclosed.
